Relaxation Massage
Relaxation massage is modeled after Swedish massage therapy, where long, smooth strokes, kneading, friction, and compression are combined to erase daily stresses, improve flexibility, increase circulation, and provide many other healing benefits. Available in other time increments.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Connective Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep tissue massage is a highly effective method for releasing long held tension due to misalignment or repetitive motion. Because the pressure is strong, open communication during the session is crucial to avoid discomfort. Following a deep tissue massage, you may experience some soreness lasting 1-2 days. As with any massage, you should drink plenty of water to replenish the tissues, as massage acts as a mild diuretic on the body. Available in other time increments, customized to client's goals.
Pregnancy Massage
During healthy pregnancies, expectant mothers may continue to receive massage. The pressure is lighter, and care is taken to avoid compressing the fetus or stimulating labor. Benefits include the ease of joint pressure, improved sleep, relief of muscular pain, improved circulation, and more.
Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a Japanese energy technique, based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, which applies pressure along specific energy pathways. Each of the 12 main energy pathways of TCM are stimulated in order to facilitate better overall health and a feeling of wellness. Client should wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Hot Stone Therapy
Based on native American practices, this massage uses heated basalt stones to melt away muscle tension, for a deeply relaxed feeling. Muscles that are massaged with these stones release tension and stress much more quickly than with a traditional massage. Some medical conditions are contraindicated. Ask the therapist if hot stone therapy is safe for you. Oct.- March only.
Aromatherapy
Added to any massage, the use of certain blended essential oils can enhance your experience by affecting your mood, energy, and/or body. Ask about the availability of essential oils, as they change seasonally.
East West Massage
This massage blends Swedish, Trager, Thai, and Shiatsu techniques to provide a full body reset, improving pain, stiffness, fatigue, and stress.
Studio Sampler
This seasonal massage session begins with a scalp massage, moves to the back, neck, and shoulders, proceeds to the back of the legs, and ends with an exfoliating foot treatment, with aromatherapy throughout. The Sampler is perfect as a gift for friends or family. *We are no longer accepting new clients.
